About the Department of

B.E - Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security)

B.E Computer Science and Engineering (Cyber Security) is a four-year undergraduate degree programme that deals with the study of how to protect computer systems and networks from theft or damage to their hardware, software or electronic data. B.E. CSE (Cyber Security) is designed to address the industry’s increasing demand for skilled security professionals in the public and private sector, both in the Data Security and in the Network/Cloud Security domains. The B.E CSE (Cyber Security) course is designed to understand the process, and practices, and gain knowledge regarding unauthorized access, and protection of networks, computers, programs, and data from unknown attacks. The programme covers core computer science subjects as well as Cyber Security specific courses. The emphasis of the program is to nurture students with the knowledge and skills required to secure computers, detect and analyze attacks and threats, respond to attacks, develop security policies, procedures, and standards.

The Department of Cyber Security is established during the year 2022-23 with the intake of 60 to produce cyber specialists. The faculty members are trained in the field of Cyber Security through various national and international training programmes. The students are motivated to enrich their knowledge in the cyber security professional area and inculcate values to practice cyber security standards in real world situations by providing various cyber awareness workshops and hands on trainings.

There is an immense cyber security future scope for professionals skilled in mitigating cyber attacks.  It guarantees that computers and networks stay protected against illegal digital access. Cyber graduates are hired as Security Engineers, Cryptographers, Security Analysts, Security Architects, Security Software Developers, Cryptanalysts, Security Consultants, etc.

Vision

Inspire and nurture the students to provide a sustainable compassionate and research-focused educational framework in the field of cyber security for creating a strong, robust, and cyber-attack free digital world.
